Unroyal Nonagons LP (1998)

Seven terrific songs followed by the worst five FWM songs ever released. For a long time I considered this the worst FWM release ever because the last five songs are just so bad -- they tarnish the entire record. And that is a minor tragedy because the first seven songs reflect a quantum leap in production and in my guitar playing. Good lyrics on the first seven as well.

When re-listening to the Farces back catalog, I was surprised at how bad half of the Subtly Ridiculous LP was, but that was offset by discovering how good half of Unroyal Nonagons was. So, this is where the colored-cover cassette era drew to a close. Farces was different after this, in its 1999-2003 "CDR era." Thankfully, one difference is that quality control came back.
